Where is it?

can't find Son's Nintendo DS - along with the game he got on Friday for Daughter's birthday. Always been incredibly careful about that thing due to its size and now its slipped away from us.

Am devastated. I mean really heartbroken. Where the flip could it have gone?

It brought back interesting memories of 1967 when I was playing Sindy dolls with a girl up the road. We were playing outside her block of flats and i went away for a moment. I return and a little girl told me a dog had run off with my Sindy doll. Floods of tears and crying myself to sleep. My heartbreak was raw, with permanent red eyes.

My Mum, desperate herself, put an advert in the local shop appealing to any dogowner who may have brought home a strange doll. She put our full address - well, you had to then, there was no email number nor phone - and coming home from school one day, I found my little Sindy tucked behind our empty milk bottles.

Now why can't that happen with son's Nintendo? Has anyone seen it please?

That really is a disaster, mine would be lost without his, and so would I when it comes to long car journeys and waiting rooms! I hope it turns up like your doll did. My tiny tears doll lost her arm (very careless of her!) when I had a spell in hospital age 5. Never did turn up. I lost interest in her after that!!!

How's your hand?

Under the car seat?

Oh dear...

Why don't you ask St Anthony where it is. He's the patron saint of lost things.

Good luck with your search.

Dang, Chairman Bill! do you know where we found the frackin' thing? Yes, under the car seat. You should do this sort of thing professionally. You obviously have a gift for this - or perhaps you have been through a similar experience?

Marie! How spooky! My Son's name is anthony and he has just found the thing! How uncanny is that???
Hope your knee is okay.

Nice idea, D, but Fatso charges about £50 for that sort of thing these days. He pitches up a tent and asks you to cross his palm with silver. Or rather he gets his wife to.

Yes, Sub, my poor little boy has been pale and drawn without that gadget. A ghost of his former self. Could cry for your Tiny Tears - always wanted one of them!

Really glad to hear it's been found.

You don't realise how much you miss something until it's gone.

You poor thing never having a Tiny Tears. I loved mine. I would say I'd buy you one but the new ones aren't as nice as the old ones.

Knee is still the same - hurting. It comes to something when I'm looking forward to going into hospital...

I didn't like her really, always thought she was ugly!!!!

(glad you found it)

Suburbia - Tiny Tears wasn't the most prettiest of dolls. Having said that modern dolls are pretty scary...

My sister had a doll, similar to Sindy, and it was called Tressie. You could style her hair as she had a 'hole' in her head where her long hair came from.

I really had a dislike to that doll. When I inherited her dolls, I wouldn't play with it.

I hope Tressie has forgiven me....

Oh you found it - what a relief Im so pleased for you. I hate to loose things at the best of times but when theres a wee bit of emotion involved - far too heartbreaking.

Oh Suburbia, you are heartless! I loved Tiny Tears, i didn't think she was ugly at all!

You too Marie, I always wanted one of those Tressy dolls! Found one at a car boot sale when Daughter was little - was elated. Even if it didn't work anymore!

Hi Polly sweetie, yes, i know what you mean. My heartbreak matched my sons! Won't let that thing out of my sight now , i tell you xxxx

Mr FF is a perpetual loser of things and that frantic face he makes when he is just about to ask *have you seen so and so* fills me with dread. I know that very soon drawers will be upended, stuff flung out of cupboards and this awful mood will fill the air - until I suddenly dsay *is this what you were looking for?*

Hope it turns up soon

I really could have done without an image of Fatso pitching up a tent while asking for money... thanks a bundle...
Now, wasn't that a clever dog back in 1967 that could read a newspaper, take the Sindy doll back and tuck it behind the milk bottles? You'd never find a dog like that these days. All dogs want to do these days is lie around licking their balls and if they don't have any they want to sniff someone elses. What is the world coming to?
